Slowly the fae known by this realm as Sierra stirred from her slumber and up onto his slender pillars as she shook the debris from her pelt. A slow yet steady rumble working its way up in her gut prompting the fae to look around her tidy little hiding spot to see what was left over from her last hunting trip, Which was not much to be fair maybe one small hare that had been pushed off into the corner for later but ended up forgotten. That wouldn't be enough to settle her stomach so with a annoyed groan escaping from her snout she turned toward the entrance of her hide out.
At first the light colored famora poked just her head out from the shrubbery that concealed the entrance to her little cave. Taking a moment to survey the clearing to ensure that there were no Azryni wolves in the immediate area that would rain on her parade before she could even start her morning hunt. Once she was certain the coast was clear the fae scooted out and started off in a brief trot in the direction of 'her' hunting grounds all the while silently singing to herself a smile plastered across her lips. In her opinion these pack wolf types always tended to over-react when they catch a single loner hunting on 'their turf' that last bit made her chuckle softly to herself.
After all how much could a single wolf hunt and eat that would possibly pose a threat to a pack?. With their hunting parties and plans surely there was more than enough food to share but of course those floof balls never seem to see it that way! ugh. Shaking her head Sierra brought herself back from her musings just as she reached the edge of the river. Lowering her frame down bringing her maw to the surface of the water, her pink textured tongue lapping up some of the nice cool refreshing liquid.

The dense blanket of snow had melted at last, revealing stretches of greenery underneath. Melodic serenades of songbirds could be heard twittering in the woodlands yet again, and the rising morning sun could finally warm a wolf's pelt yet again. Spring had arrived, the cruel winter had come to an end. A time for celebration, but also to recover and heal. The work had only just begun, albeit the young Azryni leader couldn't be prouder of his packmates. Words couldn't describe how grateful he felt for their burning dedication and determination when it came to rebuilding the pack: fixing up dens, hunting prey, foraging for herbs, protecting the borders. Everyone was more than willing to lend a paw to restoration and recuperation, helping wherever, whenever possible.
Arne had created a set of plans to make the most of the upcoming seasons: balanced hunting patrols to ensure that even wildlife that dwelled in the territory had the chance to recover and wouldn't get overhunted, new buds needed to grow and blossom into plants with healing properties. On the other paw, borders were in need of protection as well. Therefore, the dark wolf did not hesitate when a message about a loner possibly settling down in the land of Azryni reached his ears. The stranger needed to be found and confronted; with wagging tails and peaceful words or with bared fangs and raised hackles, whatever was necessary.
Although a pawful of warriors had offered to accompany the leader, Arne had refused. If there was only one traveler, it was only fair that they would be approached just by Arne himself. With that in mind, the tall male set off as soon as possible, searching for the same scent trails described in the morning report. In the end however, he didn't even have to try, for even a little, inexperienced pup would be able to find them with ease. The loner must have already made a nest, only accentuating the need to address the possible issue. Although Arne had his doubts that they could pose a sizeable threat to the pack -even though some outsiders were friendlier than others-, they needed to be approached and faced with the reality of their actions. They had decided to dwell in a land that did not belong to them, and their presence could be frustrating and meddlesome.
Among the growing shrubbery, Arne noticed a gray she-wolf stopping for a drink. He skidded to a halt, ears perking. Then, he left his temporary hideout with grace in his step, momentarily dipping his chin in greeting. "Hello, young wolf," he spoke in a gentle, amicable voice; perhaps it was little odd that he addressed her as a young wolf, for he was not much older than her. Ah, his pupsitter always tended to say that he was wise beyond his years - and did not understand the concept of fun as a result! "My name is Arne," he introduced himself, but purposefully refrained from stating his affiliation and rank.

A few moments passed and with her thirst quenched the she wolf known as Sierra lifted her snout from the surface of the water but no sooner had she done so. A voice floated through the air and into her ears prompting them to swirl around in the direction of the owner of said voice and much to her annoyance it didn't take long to spot the dark pelted brute.Of course his scent invaded her nostrils as well and in that moment she knew she did not like him. A pack wolf, Not just any pack wolf any canid reeking that much of their pack's scent held a rank of high esteem so could it be that she was standing mere feet from the Alpha that 'controlled' these lands?
"Hello young wolf, My name is Arne"
Sierra just scoffed as the brute introduced himself like it made a difference. She had a good idea why he was here and it was not for idle chatter. "Let me cut to the chase packer, I don't care who you are" With that the fae spun around flicking her tail at the brute as she started to walk away. So much for her getting breakfast here she had no doubt this brute would not allow her to do just that."You want me to leave right? So predictable" these parting words made the famora chuckle to herself as she picked up her pace just a bit.

The large male's ears perked at the silver she-wolf's rather hostile reaction to his arrival, even though he did not flinch. He stayed rooted to the spot, watching her through a pair of calm golden eyes. Well, there was no need to expand on his brief introduction, as she had caught that he ran with the Azryni; his pelt must have been soaked with their scent. She referred to him as a packer, almost venomously so. Had something happened to the female that made her despise pack wolves so much? Arne could only guess, albeit he was in no position to reopen old wounds. However, as soon as he realized that she had no interest in battling him, his posture visibly relaxed, tail hanging behind him lazily.
"You are right: I am a pack wolf," he confirmed with a low nod of his chin. "However, I am not here to chase you off. If your stomach is empty, we can spare a rabbit," he offered peacefully. Although the packs of the land were in no position to give away food as they pleased, Arne was not the wolf who would let anyone go hungry; friend or foe. He simply did not have the heart to do it, his moral compass spoke firmly in that regard. Acts of kindness could move the greatest of mountains, that was one of the first lessons his past mentor had taught him.
"If you are looking to rest your weary paws, we can spare a nest for a night or two," he added then.

"You are right: I am a pack wolf,However, I am not here to chase you off. If your stomach is empty, we can spare a rabbit"
The brute's words managed to stop her in her tracks, turning her gaze back to him a soft growl welling up in her chest, Did this packer rally think that she needed his charity?!. "I don't need your charity and if you aren't here to run me off then why are you bothering me hm?" Sierra remarked with what could be perceived as challenge in her voice, was she actually challenging the brute through? Heavens no after all she might be confident in her skill to evade a simple warrior or scouting party but from the way the brute held himself subconsciously asserting his higher rank on the lowly loner.
"If you are looking to rest your weary paws, we can spare a nest for a night or two,"
Now this actually made her laugh a night or two? Was he completely unaware of how long she had been staying oh so close to his precious pack lands?."My my such a generous offer, what ever would i do if it wasn't for the generosity of the mighty Azryni pack" Her sarcastic tone rang out into the air once more as the fae slowly turned her frame around to face the brute once more, A somewhat challenging look in her eyes as she stared the brute down waiting to see what his next move would be.

Well, the leader's generous offers were met with disdain. Was the silver she-wolf in front of him simply wary of pack wolves and their customs, or was she trying to push her luck with what they could and couldn't take? Although her response was frustrating enough to earn at least a low snarl from any wolf, the gift of patience had been granted to the black wolf at birth, therefore her bitter words did not phase him. He held his ground, standing tall and observing her movements through a pair of golden eyes. With ears angled towards the she-wolf, Arne then took a single step forward.
"I have merely wanted to inform you that you had strayed to the territory of the Azryni pack, as you could have already noticed," he stated the obvious, voice quiet yet direct. "Indeed, I am not here to chase you off," he continued, "but that doesn't mean that you can stay here." In the young leader's mind, there was a key difference between chasing off and escorting. While chasing required bared fangs and bristled hackles, escorting only needed cooperation and peaceful interactions.
"Your presence may be disruptive to the pack," Arne explained, "but more importantly, you could get hurt exploring these areas. This is no place for a loner. Most warriors are trained to attack strangers if they show resistance." With the exception of the Seriss, those attacked anyone in sight. Thankfully for her, she had seemingly stayed away from that pack - or so Arne assumed.
"If you do not wish to accept my offer, then I'm afraid I will have to escort you to the nearest border," he said definitely.

The brute's words only served to confirm what the fae had already assumed about the outcome of their meeting. Either obey or leave typical, Sierra scoffed standing her ground. "The land belongs to everyone, You packers think you can just claim it to boost your egos" She stated abit of a challenging tone in her voice, If this male wanted her to leave these lands then he would have to do it by force, she was not bothering anyone especially was not bothering his little pack but of course to a packer that did not seem to matter.
Disruptive?!, How? they did not even know she was there until this brute just happened to stumble upon her on this day."You are not escorting me anywhere!, You want me gone big boy then let's see what you got because i'm not leaving without a fight!" A snarl escaped from her maw following her words. Was he larger than her sure he was but that did not mean that she was just going to let him push her around as she adopted more of a defensive stance. As if daring the brute to come and try and force her out of 'his' territory.
A million things flung themselves up into her mind, such as was she really prepared to fight a male almost twice her size?. No She really was not but once again she would not be forced from the land when she had done nothing wrong in her opinion.

Although the silver female crossed the line, being outright rude and disrespectful to not just Arne but also his pack, a calm and collected expression continued to hover over his face, not showing a hint of what could be going on the back of his mind. Needless to say, he didn't appreciate listening to the she-wolf rambling about matters she barely understood, albeit some mistakes oftentimes stemmed from obliviousness and ignorance. Therefore, the lead wolf was willing to act with forgiveness and understanding in this case; not that he hadn't usually been rather forgiving and sympathetic.
However, Arne took a bold step onward, raising his tail in the air. "Indeed, this land belongs to the Azryni," he claimed in a loud yet still calm voice. "True, we may not have planted these trees, these stems of grass or moved these mountains. Nevertheless, this territory is tied to our traditions, to our beliefs, to our survival and to our way of life. This land would be different without us," he stated, specks of pride could be heard from his tone.
Another step onward. "By being here, you are stealing our prey and posing a threat not just to my packmates," he continued, "but also to yourself, for any warrior defending their territory would be more than eager to fight you."
And another. "Please, do not misunderstand my intentions," Arne lowered his chin ever so slightly, "but I have wolves to protect, wolves who rely on me just as I rely on them."

Courage, above all things, is the first quality of a warrior. It had been a very long day for the snow coloured brute after all he had been traveling most of the day after being sent on a peaceful mission to the neighboring pack known as the Azryni. In his opinion it was quite strange to task a warrior such as himself with such a delicate mission, For you see it is not possible to predict how the pack in question would react to his presence in their territory especially after the winter that had just tore through the land dealing damage to predator and prey alike. So as a peace offering the brute had killed a small deer on his journey and gently carried a bundle of healing herbs that grew in his pack's territory in his teeth.
It always amazes him how the healers actually manage to tie the vine around the herbs, given the fact that they all lacked opposable digits in order to tie it, they used their teeth!, Credo pulled himself from his musings as the sounds of a heated discussion reached his auds, bringing a bit of concern to the foreground of his mind. So with the invention of finding out what exactly was going on and possibly putting an end to it the brute turned his frame and proceeded to travel in the direction of the raised voices.
Much to the brute's surprise when he pushed through a medium size bush the scene unveiled before his optics, Their scents hitting his nostrils at the same time and instantly he knew the raven black male had to be a wolf belonging to the Azryni but the fae's scent held no pack on it meaning she was most likely a loner who had been caught trespassing where she should not have.
Credo made his way toward the two wolves making sure not to give off anything that could be misconstrued as a threat or invasion. Once he was close enough for the pair to hear him but still at a respectful distance from the Azryni wolf, He lowered his frame toward the ground for a moment placing the bundle of herbs by his front left paw before straightening up. "What seems to be the problem here if you don't mind me asking." Credo questioned with a respectful tone, his gaze shifting from the male then the female then back to the male, only to repeat over and over.

The fae simply listened to what the brute had to say not that it was having much of an effect on her decision. If he still wanted her to leave then he would have to physically force her from 'his' lands. When he got to the part about her safety sierra couldn't stop herself from laughing in his face like he actually gave two tail flicks about what happened to some loner. No packer ever did no matter how many times they try and convince her otherwise she was not one to be fooled by sweet words.
"Please, do not misunderstand my intentions, but I have wolves to protect, wolves who rely on me just as I rely on them."
Aha! she knew it he was only trying to protect his precious pack. "There is no misunderstanding here, you are exactly like the others well maybe not as aggressive as the Seriss but you share the same mindset when it comes to loners it would seem" she stated her eyes narrowing just a touch as her tail started to whip back and forth behind her. That was until another scent was carried into the area on the next set of air currents that rolled through. causing the famora to take her eyes off the brute in front of her to search for the source of the new scent but it wouldn't take long before a voice rang out into the air as well.
"What seems to be the problem here if you don't mind me asking."
Instantly putting her even more on the defensive, The new brute was not as large as the brute in front of her, but that meant very little seeing as she was now outnumbered. A soft growl worked its way up her throat in place of any verbal threat she could think of.

As the rather unfriendly conversation continued to drag on, another scent tickled the large male's nose. Arne immediately lifted his chin, allowing the brand new smell brush past him. A Darimi wolf, just one. His ears perked with interest. What was bringing them to the lands of the Azryni? Diplomatic affairs, he presumed. A lost apprentice on their first day exploring the faraway lands? Maybe. One could only guess, albeit the lead wolf didn't have to wait for long. In the blink of an eye, a white fellow emerged from the deep shrubbery that surrounded them, a pungent smell of herbs and freshly-killed prey wafting from his fur. A peace offering that the visitor then rested by his paw.
Arne's tail continued to stand upward, but then it dropped with a gentle greeting wag aimed at the Darimi arrival. His expression softened visibly, offering the second male a nod of his chin. A messenger on a diplomatic journey, then! Fortunately, he didn't seem to be in a hurry, therefore Arne could only hope that the Darimi weren't asking for a hasty aid; not that the black wolf wouldn't be able to provide that.
"Ah, well met, warrior!" he welcomed the snow-colored fellow, uncertain about his name. He was sure their paths hadn't crossed yet. "Please, pardon the unceremonious situation at the borders. It seems that the cruel winter has lured a loner into the midst of our land," Arne explained briefly, taking a short step closer to the visitor. "Apologies you had to see such an exchange, but it is a matter I had to address." A dip of his head, followed by an apologetic shake. Truth be told, Arne was not pleased with the timing of the Darimi wolf's arrival, but there was nothing either party could've done to prevent such a mishap.
"Nonetheless," he parted his jaws again, "I can let my warriors take care of the loner, if the reason behind your visit is urgent?"
As for the silver she-wolf, her defensive snarls and growls fell upon deaf ears. Arne doubted she would strike at either of the wolves, especially not when an amalgam of scents of an approaching party of Azryni wolves had been drawing closer and closer with each breath they took. He knew what he meant when he said letting warriors take care of it.

The fae just watched the exchange between the two brutes, realizing that things were indeed going from bad to worse for her. After all if push came to shove there was a chance that she might have been able to take one male wolf and escape but now she did not know, They did not share the same pack scent but their demeanor toward one another was awfully friendly. So maybe they were friends or allies?, Either way it did not bode well for the lone female now.
"Do not speak about me like i'm not here you flea brains!" Sierra lashed out a soft growl following her her words. Were they actually ignoring her? She did not know nor did she really care but she would make it clear that she was still in the area, Probably not the wisest of ideas but it was too late to take back her words so she would just have to deal with whatever came her way from here on out. Her optics darted from one brute to the next trying to keep both of them firmly in her sight.
For a moment her optics drifted to the fresh kill that the new arrival had brought with him, Just the sight of it prompted the fae to instinctively lick her lips and a rumble to stir in her belly. After all the 'Azryni' wolf had interrupted her attempt at a hunt so she had not had the chance to fill her belly.

Courage, above all things, is the first quality of a warrior. Credo dipped his head in a show of respect to the dark coated brute. "Likewise Sire, I wasn't expecting to run into a wolf of your standing so close to the border." Of course he felt like an complete idiot once those words left his lips. This was his territory! He could go anywhere he wanted at any time so chose to do so, The brute shook his head knocking that mistake from his mind before speaking once more his optics darting between the brute before him and the loner standing a few feet away.
"No need to apologise sire, I've seen this type of thing too many times to count since that winter tore through the lands." Again his head dipped in the direction of the brute, He was sure the loner was probably at a loss as to why he was showing such respect to a wolf not of his own pack, But it was clear the fae had no idea who she was in the presence of, He on the other paw knew exactly who the raven pelted brute was, Arne, Alpha of the Azryni. The aforementioned Alpha's last words sort of caught the brute off-guard. Urgent? not at all in fact it was the opposite Credo was here to lend a helping paw if they needed it.
"Urgent? Not at all, I was sent to deliver relief supplies if needed, i know this task is usually reserved for a healer but all of our healers are busy with other tasks at the moment." He stated but then his aud twitched at the fae's outburst but he chose to ignore it, Instead he watched on intently to see how the other brute would respond to a show of such disrespect.

The dark-colored male tilted his head ever so slightly at the battle-scarred wolf's remark. With the current schedule of hunting and scouting patrols, it was beyond easy to run into an Azryni wolf so close to the borders. Of course, managing to run into Arne himself was a feat on its own, albeit even the youthful alpha male was no stranger to renewing scent marks and challenging trespassers. Case and point, the silver she-wolf standing right in front of him, still reluctant to abandon her makeshift nest she had made on the pack's territory. Once again however, her threatening snarls fell upon deaf ears, as he had his eyes rested on the Darimi arrival and what he had to announce.
In the end, Arne opted to let the statement slide, assuming it was just a simple slip of the tongue. A brief shake of the white male's head came as a confirmation of that assumption.
"Very well, then," he nodded in agreement to the Darimi newcomer's words, almost itching to continue in the conversation. Unfortunately, the growling, spitting female was still present, and needed to be confronted. Much to his own dismay, Arne couldn't just split himself in two (his job would've been significantly easier if he could) and attend to both matters at once. Thankfully, the strengthening smell of more Azryni wolves offered a smidge of comfort, as he knew that someone would be able to handle the situation in his place.
"I'm glad that the Darimi are faring well," he added then, his voice sincere. "I will escort you to our camp to discuss pack matters in more detail."
Before Arne could turn on his paw, he faced the she-wolf again. "My offer still stands," he addressed her, "you are welcome to follow us and fill your belly. If you accept, I'm willing to treat you as one of my kin; if you refuse, however, you will be challenged by a patrol of Azryni warriors. As much as I hate to say it, they are permitted to chase or harm you if they deem necessary." He guessed that giving her a direct choice would do more good than meandering around and trying to justify pack life. The mere idea of using violence ruffled his coat a little, nonetheless.
"The choice is yours," he finished.

The silver fae just huffed as her words seemed to fall on deaf ears once again. Ever since that other brute arrived it seemed that 'Arne' or whatever his stupid name was was intentionally ignoring her. That was fine after all two can play that game as she turned her back on both of the brutes and with a flick of her tail she dismissed herself from the situation, slowly starting to pad back to her little cozy home. Her little hunting trip will have to wait until later when she could do so without being interrupted it seemed.
That was until the "alpha" decided to address her once more regarding his 'offer' if you could call it that. Another huff escaped from her snow white lips as she flicked her tail at the brute, turning her head half-way to glance back at him. While her demeanor had calmed down a bit from earlier. She was still unwilling to give an inch to the male. "You can take your offer and fluff off" She remarked with a roll of her eyes before turning her attention back to what she was doing. It did not take that long for her to reach the entrance to her little 'cave'.
Within a moment, she disappeared from view slipping into her makeshift home. The threat of warriors coming to 'deal' with her meant little to nothing to the fae, after all if needed she was sure she could out run and lose them like she had done to countless warrior brutes in the past.
